Welcome to the wonderful world of foreclosures.
Any recourse is highly unlikely. And if there is any it is up to the foreclosing lender to pursue it, not you. You will be offered the house in it's present condition ("as is").
It is not uncommon to see appliances gone in bank owned housing. Cabinets and fixtures gone is a bit extreme but not unheard of.
Typically the only case I have seen of a lender going after someone was when they came back after foreclosure to get such items. That was breaking and entering.
Now if something is left in the house that is personal property and has value over $500 we will generally be ordered by the lender to store it in a room or garage with a posting on the door that personal property remains and that the former owner has 30 days (sometimes 60) to make arrangements to get it.
