This is just a stall. You don't stop foreclosure, merely push it back and add a bankruptcy to your credit worthiness on top of everything else.
I would explore all my other options first. Bankruptcy is only for the most desperate of situations (IMHO). It has it's place but as an option of last resort.
Sorry, but I saw too many people who blindly followed this advise given by some glib bankruptcy attorney and later found that they had other options.
