If your lender won't work with you to devise a plan to keep you inyour home, but you can now afford to make the payments... and perhaps a little bit more... you should meet with a bankruptcy attorney to see if a Chapter 13 could keep you in your home.
A bankruptcy plan won't work if your finances haven't improved.
