Maru,

I suggest you keep your goals clear in this case when you seek the legal
help of an attorney. Attorneys are legal advisors (not financial advisors)
at a specific topic in law (immigration, family, personal injury, asset
protection, etc).

If your goal is to keep the home seeking Chapter 13 bankruptcy
protection, then speak with a bankruptcy attorney. Bear in mind that
the success of Chapter 13 filers in obtaining a discharge is minimal (this
is not something that your attorney will probably tell you). In other
words, according to studies, out of 100 people who file for Chapter 13
bankruptcy protection, the great majority never complete their payment
plans, never obtain a discharge of the debt and go back to foreclosure. I
have written about this and other foreclosure issues on this website:
www. .

If your goal is to delay the case and probably keeping the home using
the issues I discuss in my website at ,
then speak with a consumer protection attorney.

If your goal is to protect your other assets (other real estate, cars, bank
accounts, etc) from a deficiency judgment, then speak with an Asset
Protection attorney.

I hope this helps,
