Too late to save it?

I have a rental property (which I used to live in) that is going through foreclosure. Last Friday I received the summons for the foreclosure. The bank is working with me on a short sale. They given me until April 28th to sell it.
My once excellent credit has been destroyed by this. My other creditors have been reducing my credits lines, even though I've never paid late.
I've visited a debt consolidation company and with the payment plan I will be able to make the payments on the condo. I'm about 5k in the hole for the months I have not paid.
Is it too late to save this property from foreclosure?
If I am able to save it, will my credit score improve or has it been permanently ruined?
