Went througth this myself; I think if the property is single resedential home and less than 2.5 Acre then the chances are very slim for DJ.
Do not let the (hunters)scare you to death about your wages and all that, remeber there are thousends of people that are in your situation and it'd cost the bank fortune to legally pursue their 35K!
If you are struggling then you need to make sure that you show your bank accounts are empty so they could believe you!
I do not know your case details; in my case; the credit score was the only thing that resulted from the forclosure and mine was about 38K short.
