Take responsibility!

Sorry, I worked hard my entire life to afford a nice home. It took me 4 homes bought and sold and 25 years to live in my current home.
No one GAVE me anything and I KNEW what I was signing before I signed. Thank goodness I did have the brains not to get bamboozled into a 5 year adjustable or other such nonsense.
I'll give it to you straight and you're not going to like it. I don't go out and buy flat-screen TVs for my house. I have not gone on a vacation since 1998. I never buy what I can't afford. I have never paid a dime interest to a credit card company. Is it a surprise my credit score is 810 points? Not to me and this is someone that never made more than 65K in one year and never graduated college. I never owned a cell phone till 2 years ago and only now that I can use it as a tax deduction in my work do I own one.
I now owe 28K on my house and then it will be paid off and has a value of 450K.
You're not going to get into a good situation until you realize there is no free lunch, buy what you can afford and find another way to amuse yourself without spending money like it was shot from a cannon.
I for one wish not to shoulder the debt of those that will not control their own spending.
The problem today is everyone wants it all now but they refuse to sacrifice anything to get it.
