I agree that lenders/loan officers/loan brokers are part of the "stigma" attached to attornies and real estate agents.
Unfortunately, all three professions deal in areas of life that don't offer any kind of guarantee as to outcome. The client themselves are directly involved as to how things will work out. That, coupled with the skill and ethics of the professional, determine how the service being asked for will end. When it doesn't end "well" or according to the clients' expectation, the blame can rest with "us". And a few bad ones make it hard on those with ethics and who truly care for the clients.
Hopefully, it will become more difficult to become a real estate agent and mortgage loan officer. I believe that a higher level of knowledge and education benefits all. Unfortunately, it will also be necessary for additional laws that will protect the consumer. I don't worry about any of those new laws, but I know a few agents who should be.
