My house is going to be foreclosed...HELP!

Hi Everyone. My Ex-Husband and I have a home together (in both our names) that he was suppose to maintain and pay the mortgage on. About a little over 1 year ago he decided he couldnt afford it and stopped paying the mortgage. In the meantime we have made the effort to sell it requesting a short sale, which just fell through due to the buyer not being able to get financed. Therefore, the house will most likely be forclosed on. I live in NY, does anyone know what happens after its foreclosed? Thanks.
