Unfortunately if the property does foreclose ... only bad things happen. Your crdeit rating will go down the toilet ... drop probably 300 pts. You won't qualify to buy another home for at least 2 years (Freddie Mac just went from 5 yrs. to 2 yrs.) The person living in the property (your husband?) ... will get served a 3-day notice and utimately get evicted!
