Thank you Jerry for responding. The dealership did not do it, it is a debt collector lawyer that bought it from the bank. He did renew the lien. Original judgment was for $2200 and now with lawyer fees and interest it is up to $1600. My sons home is homesteaded and very little equity. The thing is that the lawyer sent me a document through the mail from my local courthouse saying that the property would be sold at auction on the court house steps on Aug. 19, 2008. Shouldn't I have received something from the court personally or is it ok for just the debt collector to let me know.
