We live in MI, due to my husband's recent job loss and a child support payment we didn't have previously (relationship before we were together that we just found out about..13 yrs later)we are now way in over our heads budget wise and cannot afford our house payment. Our home lost over $13k in equity over the past few years and we owe more than it is worth now. What are the best options out there? We are not behind...yet...but will be shortly. Is it best to just let it get foreclosed on? My inlaws screwed up my husbands credit, so that isn't really an issue for us. It will be at the very least 5 yrs until we would even want to look at buying another home. Any and all help/suggestions/ideas are greatly appreciated.
