Help!!! loan modification docs

Posted by worried homeowner on August 21, 2008 at 15:25:48:

I received our loan modification docs (from Countrywide - or CW) last Friday. The docs only have the new payment amount & the current interest rate, it's missing the expiration date of the interest rate being offered. I called the number listed in the docs & got connected to a 3rd party (HEART Financial Services) handling the questions for the docs from CW. I was requesting a revised loan modification docs that will include the expiration date of the current interest. HEART confirmed over the phone that my current 6.29% fixed interest is good for 5 years & will expire on 9/1/2013. HEART say they only do customer service & loan docs are from CW. I called CW & they referred me back to HEART. For the last 4 days, I keep on calling both parties & I've talked to different departments - home retention, customer service, rate reduction dept., etc... & I still do not have any resolution yet. I'm very hesitant to sign this loan mod docs which does not have the rate expiration (to play safe, just in case CW change the terms/interest after 6 months - I can say that the interest is fixed for 5 yrs). Time is running out on my end - because I have to send the payment by 9/1. Can somebody please help me on this situation? Any help is greatly appreciated? Thank you...
