Personal Bankruptcy can result in the legal discharge of your personal responsibility to repay the mortgage loan but what most folks don't know is the bank's mortgage lien remains against the house. Unless you have an agreement with the bank to give it back... the bank must continue the legal foreclosure process to recover the property. Your personal bankruptcy didn't alter the bank's mortgage lien.
