The home was discharged in our bankruptcy. I kept asking my attorney questions, I thought that was all we had to do. Our attorney no longer works for the firm where we hired him. Someone else showed up at our meeting with the trustee, then a week later, they told us our attorney no longer worked there. Kind of feel left in the dust there. Funny how you pay the lawyer a lot of money, spend endless hours on paperwork that they just type in the computer, then they're done with you.

But, our bank just called us, they want to have us sign over the deed and title so they can get it sold and moving along. They also had us take the keys to a realtor. I think that is good, and I'm hoping to avoid foreclosure, but not sure how that works. Does anyone know if we do sign everything over, can we avoid foreclosure? We also received a final notice- the mortgage company filed a petition to waive our right to stay, which is fine because we moved out in March. (the attorney's office did advise us on that, said that was what we wanted when we moved out).

Our home was discharged in our bankruptcy (final at the end of June), I just want to be very careful in what we're signing. When we got the discharge, I was so relieved, because it was a very hard decision to file bankruptcy in the first place, and I thought the nightmare was done. I just want to move on.
