Normally I don't advocate this but if you are making good money a short sale may be difficult. Usually there is a hardship factor that must be met and it doesn't appear that you have one.
Still I would be opening communications with the lender to see if there are any options that they are open to. Perhaps Deed in Lieu.
If you are looking for another house you might want to get on that right away before a pending foreclosure starts to effect your buying power.
