Again, information is state specific. Some areas of the country have a 30 day, some 60, some next to none. Don't depend on a friend of a friend for timetable. Most areas have foreclosure hotlines sponsored by the local county, state or non-profit. Otherwide contact legal aid.
While the landlord knows she is in foreclosure she has every right to collect rent for the period that she owns it. Not, of course,when the bank owns it.
Any foreclosure notices are posted with the county. I would start there and see if an auction has been scheduled.
