Michigan (like Minnesota) is a non-judicial foreclosure state about 99% of the time. That means that they don't use the courts per sec. They file the proper notices, advertise according to the rules and have a Sheriff Sale.
You should be dealing with the law firm and equally important you ahould be talking to your lender about alternatives.
You have any number of good county and state resources available on foreclosure. And they are free.
Start opening up communications. Now.
