Rhonda....I would not just walk away from it. If you can still keep making the payments, I would, otherwise look into a loan modification. Think about the money you've put into it, if you can salvage the house and stay in it, it would be your best option. Alot of times I've found that the mortgage company gives the homeowner the answer "No" when asked if they can work something out. You need to get in touch with a Loss Mitigation Specialist and go from there if you'd like to stay in the home. Hope that helps!
