Calling the bank will be a waste of time. This house is in the final stages of foreclosure and appears to have a scheduled auction/Sheriff Sale. Highly unlikely the bank would even talk to you as they have a procedure that they must follow. The law firm might give you some basic information. You have the name and address. Just cross reference them for the phone number.
You can always go to the auction like any one else. If you do I would be honing my knowledge on procedure for your state and how it is done.
But just so you know in most states the starting bid will be what is owed to the lender. Why would a lender start at $75k if the house is worth three times that? Sounds like someone is either pulling your leg or really misinformed.
What state is the house in?
