What you are calling taxes seems to me to be "Special Aasessments."
Have you talked with your tax collector. In most cases these "Special Assessments" for water, sewer, electric, etc., in other words utilites, can be paid off monthly or annualy at little or no interest.
Speak with your local tax collector, explain your situation, and see if they are not willing to work with you.
No need to lose your home for something that possibly can be worked out.
