On the surface, yes, one would think so. But as stated in the other posts there are a variety of factors that most people do not know about that the lender will consider. And those can make this statement completely wrong.
One can agree that something is better than nothing but that will not make it the right answer for every situation. The lender is going to look out for it's own interests and that of the shareholders.
That's why the Feds are considering a number of "bribes" with our tax payer money to sweeten the pot.
It just isn't that simple.
