You shouldn't be scared or worried. Your lender should be.
The process in your state takes a while,and lenders are working first with loans in acute risk of foreclosure. However horrifying this is to you, you are a whole lot better off than hundreds of thousands of other folks.
If you can't make your payments, save whatever $$$ you have in a special account earmarked for your mortgage payment. Sooner or later you'll need it.
Concentrate on finding a job. Report back in a couple of months.
