Eric, if you don't completely understand what has been advised by your lawyer ... you had better get back in to see your lawyer, and don't leave the office unless and until you are 100% certain. That's what you paid for. Nobody here has enough information to explain the legal advice your got from your lawyer as it relates to your particular set of circumstances.
