Uninhabitable/Codemnable Home in WV

I am now in foreclosure, I received a letter to cure the debt and I didnt not send money and the mortgage company is calling less and less as time goes on, Now I am a resident in West Virginia, and I was told that since my house could acutally be declared uninhabitable or codemned by the city, (i have 3 basement walls that have fallen a roof that is leaking and a electrical service box that has corroded due to the flooding my neighborhood endures every heavy rain, I dont have the 60k to fix the house)my mortgage company may be obligated to write off the loan or take the monies I owe and allow me to put it on another property, I thought this sounded kind of bogus, anyone else have any thoughts oe opinions....
